February - Seeking the Love of The Father

Updated: Apr 11, 2023

No sooner do the stores take down Christmas trees and move the wrapping paper to the Clearance section than they start stringing up Cupids and red hearts.

Commercial Love.

That's an oxymoron.

Love is the most universal, spiritual force there is, yet the world has reduced it to an arrow-shooting angel, a box of chocolates, and a dozen roses.

The Bible tells us that God is Love.

He IS Love!

Can we then think it even remotely appropriate to reduce our Heavenly Father to these commercial representations of what Love is, or should be?

The mere thought of that is absurd to me.

Please don't get me wrong; I, too, partake in the gift-giving of Love for Valentine's Day. I'll use any excuse to love on my family a little more than usual. The kids look forward to our Valentine's Day décor, a vase of fresh flowers on the table centered between our heart-shaped candlesticks, their chocolate hearts, and celebrating a "fancier" meal together.

But we don't leave God out of the equation.

We give Him thanks because God IS the equation.

We celebrate because we know that the only reason we are even able to love one another is "because He first loved us." (1 John 4:19)

I believe that many are avidly searching for that True Love of the Father. Many are lost and being misled by the darkness of this world; others, Prodigal sons who may be too stubborn to return to Him.

This fallen world can do that to us; it will knock us down, make us lose our way, douse our hope, and cause our faith to waver.

It will even make us feel unloved.

Yet, nothing can be further from the Truth.

The Truth is this: The same God who spoke the universe into existence loves each and every single one of us. He loves us so much that He created us in His very own image. (Genesis 1:26)

That's some Good News if ever I've heard any!

I've got more Good News that I would like to share with you this month. I was ecstatic to learn that since the beginning of the pandemic across the globe, there has been a dramatic increase in the number of people openly accepting Jesus Christ as Lord!

According to the following two articles so graciously shared with me by my Fellowship leader, we are in the midst of a Christian revival!

Praise God!

I pray that, like so many in our nation, your hearts are turning toward our Maker. I pray that you will feel His Love burst into your life.

Happy to have you on this journey. ❤
